Here is my review of One Miniatures of 1/10 and 1/12 scale bust of General Yue Fei of Southern Song Dynasty, China.

Please note this review is based on the product pictures for sculpted detail and historical accuracy. I did not purchase the bust, so there are no detailed and close-up shots of the resin parts.

General Yue Fei bust kits have been released in both 1/10 and 1/12 scales. The kits were showcased on Facebook on August 6, 2026, and are available directly from the sculptor or through Taobao China.

The 1/10-scale version depicts General Yue Fei wearing his armour and holding a crescent blade guan dao polearm in his right hand.

The 1/12-scale version is a half-figure bust. General Yue Fei is also shown in armour, gripping the guan dao with his right hand while stroking his goatee with his left, creating a distinctive and contemplative pose.

This landmark creation from One Miniatures draws inspiration from the rich military culture of China's Song Dynasty, vividly portraying the heroic determination and tactical prowess of ancient Chinese northern commanders. The piece is designed based on rigorous historical research and cinematic visual storytelling, perfectly transforming the classic Song Dynasty armor into a masterpiece of miniature sculpture.

The designs for the armour, crescent blades, etc. were inspired by "Wujing Zongyao" - the "Portrait of Yue Fei" from the Ming Dynasty - the stone statues in the tomb corridor of Shi Jian from the Southern Song Dynasty in Ningbo - Yongtai Mausoleum, and others.

About General Yue Fei

Yue Fei (岳飛; March 24, 1103 – January 28, 1142) was a Song Dynasty military general, strategist and folk hero.  Legend has it that when Yue Fei was young, his mother tattooed his back with four large characters meaning “loyally serve and protect the country” (精忠报国).  At age 19, Yue Fei entered the army, defeated many of the enemy’s most feared generals and helped resist foreign invasions.  However, as Yue Fei grew in fame and influence, the emperor felt threatened.  He had Yue Fei imprisoned and killed.  Yue Fei’s patriotic ideals were embraced by later generations.

Final thoughts:

The two busts are superbly sculpted. My only concern is the General’s polearm. The legendary polearm associated with General Yue Fei is the Liquan Spear (沥泉枪, Liquan Qiang), a traditional Chinese spear. However, the sculptor had portrayed him holding a crescent blade guan dao polearm instead.

Conclusion:

Two superbly sculpted busts that immediately remind me of Linjo Models, a Chinese company that produced some exceptionally finely detailed busts several years ago. Both pieces display remarkable craftsmanship, with expressive faces, convincing anatomy, and beautifully rendered textures. Highly recommended!
